Why take the exam?
Urinary tract cancers, particularly bladder cancers, often have no symptoms in the early stages. When signs such as blood in the urine appear, the disease may already be advanced.
The Urine24 examination allows early detection of significant cellular changes, facilitating rapid and effective medical interventions, increasing the chances of therapeutic success, and reducing the impact of the disease.

How does it work?
The Urine24 kit contains everything needed to perform, in the comfort of your own home, the collection of urine samples for three consecutive days. Once the collection is complete, a specialized pick-up service takes care of the delivery of the material to the Hospitex laboratory.
In the laboratory, samples are analyzed with state-of-the-art technology and according to internationally recognized methodologies, such as The Paris System, ensuring the highest accuracy and reliability of results. The report is sent directly to the patient via e-mail, securely and confidentially.

To whom is the exam recommended?
Urine24 examination is indicated for people with risk factors for urinary tract cancers. Screening is recommended every 2 years if there is only one risk factor and annually if there are two or more.
Main risk factors:
- Blood in the urine (hematuria): may indicate simple infection or cancer.
- Oncological history: especially urinary tract neoplasms.
- Exposure to carcinogens: such as chemicals, pollution or certain drugs.
- Smoking : metabolites from smoking increase the risk of bladder cancer.
- Food with harmful additives: preservatives such as nitrates, nitrites, dyes and artificial sweeteners have recognized carcinogenic effects.
- Age over 45: 95% of urothelial cancers develop after this age.
