Urine24 and LILT: the results of the awareness campaign

Prevention of urologic cancers is a public health priority, and early detection remains the most effective tool for reducing mortality and complications. For this reason, Urine24, a noninvasive urine cytology test, has launched an awareness campaign in collaboration with LILT Florence. The initiative combined information, area events and digital tools to raise awareness and facilitate access to the test.
Campaign goals
The Urine24 & LILT Florence campaign has set three main goals:
1. Education and information - spreading knowledge about early signs of prostate, bladder and kidney cancers.
2. Promotion of preventive screening - encourage men and women to take non-invasive tests, such as Urine24, to detect cellular abnormalities.
3. Facilitating access to testing - providing practical information on where and how to obtain Urine24 through pharmacies, contracted clinics, and online platforms.
Activities carried out
The campaign took a multi-channel approach:
- Open days and local events: clinics and pharmacies hosted information days, offering consultations with specialists and distribution of the Urine24 kit.
- Webinars and online meetings: sessions with urologists and oncologists to explain early signs and how to use the test.
- Social campaign and dissemination materials: videos, infographics and informative posts to reach a wider audience.
- Post-test support: assistance in reading reports and guidance to medical follow-up, ensuring a comprehensive prevention pathway.
Quantitative results
Data collected during the campaign show concrete results:
- Participation in events: over 350 citizens took part in open days and webinars.
- Urine24 kit distribution: 280 kits delivered, an increase of 50% compared to the previous period.
- Tests completed: about 220 samples sent and reports received, confirming a high level of adherence to the program.
- Increased awareness: 75% of event participants reported increased knowledge of early signs of urologic cancers.
- Feedback from professionals: pharmacists and specialists reported increased interest in preventive checkups and noninvasive testing.
Qualitative results
- The campaign reinforced Florence's role as a hub for urology prevention education.
- The combination of in-person events and digital channels has also simplified access to the Urine24 test for citizens from other parts of the city.
- Participants became more aware of early warning bells such as hematuria, urinary difficulty or lower back pain.
Conclusions
The collaboration between Urine24 and LILT Florence demonstrated how an integrated approach can produce concrete results: increased awareness, increased use of noninvasive diagnostic tests, and strengthening of the preventive culture in the territory.
The Florence experience represents a model that can be replicated in other cities, underscoring the importance of combining diagnostic innovation, information, and territorial accessibility to reduce the risk of late diagnosis of urological cancers.
This campaign confirms that prevention is not just a concept, but a concrete path that unites citizens, professionals, and cutting-edge diagnostic tools such as Urine24.
